Earth was invaded by a lovable, whimsical alien when "E.T. the Extra Terrestrial" hit the big screen in 1982. We laugh and cried and cheered at this bigger-than-life adventure, and left movie theaters touched by a small boy's encounter with another world.

Gertie: Is he a pig? He sure eats like one.

Gertie: Here he is. [Mary hits E.T. with the refrigerator door]

Mary:[absently] Here's who?

Gertie: The man from the moon. But I think you've killed him already.

Elliott: E.T., can you say that? Can you say 'E.T.'? E.T.

E.T.: Eeee Teee.

Elliott: Ha! Ha! [Elliot laughs in amazement]

E.T.: E.T.! E.T.! E.T.! Be good.

Gertie: "Be good"! I taught him that too!

Gertie: Here he is. [Mary hits E.T. with the refrigerator door]

Mary: [absently] Here's who?

Gertie: The man from the moon. But I think you've killed him already.

Beeee good. • E.T.

Mary: If you ever see it again, whatever it is, don't touch it. Just call me and we'll have somebody come down and take it away.

Gertie: Like the dogcatcher?

Elliott: They'll give it to a lobotomy or do experiments on it or something.

Tyler: Where is he from, Uranus? Get it? Your anus?

Greg: He doesn't get it, Ty.

Tyler: Get it? Your anus?

Greg: He doesn't get it.

Elliott: Your so immature!

Michael: [in awe, upon seeing E.T.] Elliott.

Elliott: I'm keeping him.

Gertie: What is it?

Elliott: He won't hurt you, Gertie. He won't hurt you, Gertie. He's not gonna hurt you.

Gertie: Is he a boy or a girl?

Elliott: He's a boy.

Gertie: Was he wearing any clothes?

Gertie: I don't like his feet.

Elliott: They're only feet, you little twerp.
